You don't escape the suffering, But get a few breaks from it.
I'm thinking ( being a optimist ) this and a few more done and being done, might do better with a ROI in Cd sales... added to a new Cd.
thanks

I looked out this morning, blues ‘s far as I could see
mmmm-hmmmmm-mm, blues ‘s far as I could see
went to check my mail, blues was all addressed to me

I went an’ picked up my guitar blues fell out like rain
Yahh – ohh – mmmhmmm – mm fell out like rain
An empty pillow your side ‘a the bed all that remain

I’m gonna ride on down on the coast at Gulfport
Ride on down, down on the coast at Gulfport
Swim on out ‘til these blues sink to tha ocean floor

Ain’t goin’ nowhere, just spinnin’ my back wheels
mmm-hah-mmm-mm-mm spinnin’ my back wheels
you evah had tha heartache you know just how it feels

change your mind baby, better keep it to yourself
oh yah, baby, mmmmm-hmm- keep it to yourself
used to these blues now baby, I don’t want nothin’ else

keep it to yourself baby
I’m used to these blues
I don’ want nothin’ else

The insrumentation is quite somber but the mood is livened up with vocal. Well done

desire for change can take overwhelming setbacks but sometimes catches the drift of original approach.

 Profanity is quiet common in 2024 music  , No biggee , unless you promote it , then u might have a problem.
she has ads running , Hard to say . I'll take a guess , only certain company's will tie in their brand with her and her song. I doubt a company like "Huggies"... would be associated with Fuck You songs.

Good morning @rightly,

thank you buddy.  I've downed tools since writing the the album so quickly.   That was a month or so ago and now I feel the urge to write again.  Unfortunately I have to suppress the urge as once I start, it takes over my life and there are so many other demands on time.  Once again, thank you.

Paul

@moraamarolaloba,

thank you for writing this review.

Accordion is such a beautiful instrument.  I guess I have to write in a poetic manner. I do so to create something beautiful from ugly observations of life.

Many thanks

Paul

@Elvis Nash,

I'm going to let the 'f' word ride.  I have no aspirations for this song other than to concisely express my feelings.  Usually, I stay clear of the use of stronger words in  my writing but I believe this word perfectly conveys my thoughts.  No need to tailor this as it's sole purpose is to exist as the original thought which simply flowed during the initial writing process.

Thank you

Paul

Hey John, @pompeyjazz,  it gave me such a buzz to write a song each day as it reminded me that I'm still abe to write effectively.  It was an accomplishment because each one was written after a hard day at work.  I believe that I allocated a maximum of 90 minutes to each new composition.  as you said, it represents a snapshot of my thoughts for a particular month.  As you know, I went on to produce 5 of the new songs.  I continued the writing process after the 7 or 8 that I sent you and stopped writing at 12 songs.  I believe that you enjoyed  'A Tidal Wave From Hell'.  I was really pleased with the emotion in some of the lyrics to various songs. A shed a tear to the following lyric  ''Miami or Sterling, the school yard and the zoo" from" 'A Piece Of My heart'.  I think if a song can evoke this, then the writing is honest.

 A big thank you to you John.

Paul

Good morning @Dorian,

Drums have always been my nemesis.  However, I love to include toms.  I always think that they bring something extra to a drum track   My studio is currently packed away so I doubt if I will revisit this song.

Many thanks for your kind review

Paul

@PaulAds,

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and generous review.

I think, you clearly see that I wear my heart on my sleeve during the writing process.  When I first began to write, I did so to create something that I believed would be perfect.  This has been my response to disappointment, injustice, hurt and ugliness, either experienced or observed in life.  Equally, life can can also be quite beautiful.

I'm aware that I can't control what happens during a life-time. When my life is out of control, I write to readdress the balance. (I guess that I had some major balancing to do in March when I wrote the album). Creating beauty within a musical framework is achievable. It's my response to the ferocity of living and the disappointment of life experiences. We all have internal battles and are required to fight back in numerous ways in order to get through this life journey.

Writing is like a balm.  Without the struggles and beauty, I doubt that poetry and music would be written.

thank you @PaulAds.

Paul

@Dorian

It's such a shame that a song like this has to be written.  We live in a bizarre world where people at times, communicate ineffectively,misunderstand and hurt each other.

I think the production here is very interesting and benefits from the at times minimal and unexpected approach.  The vocals are really good.
 this this is a thought provoking composition.

I really enjoyed listening.

Aw, this is lovely, Paul @Paul V

I don't think I've met a more accomplished songwriter than your good self.

Your trademark beautiful melodies and insightful, heart-on-your-sleeve lyrics are here in abundance. The other thing that occurred to me as I was listening to this (again) was that it so often sounds like your songs are your way of trying to make the world a better place. There's nearly always that sense of fighting a losing battle...but what would we amount to if there was no fight left in us?

It's said that a person can't really be capable of gentleness if they aren't capable of genuine ferocity...and I often think there's a very powerful force that drives you to write the way you do.

I never hear any ego in anything you do...just the desire to make something beautiful out of all of this tragedy.

This place is richer by far when you're around.
