John (habiTat) gave me permission to publish this.  I have a habit (excuse the pun) of taking published songs and re-writing the melodies - for me it helps to develop my songwriting skills, which is, indubitably, the purpose of this forum.

I was flattered to have John cover this, although it is very strange to listen to a new song for the first time but already know the words, just not the tune 

I think what you've done is great, so different. Like I said in my PM, just by adding that line to the chorus part, you have made this song directly Christian, something I deliberately avoided. Interesting how something so small can change the meaning so much.
