Like it or loathe it, it's Valentines Day soon (14th Feb). As someone has already suggested it (tinam, I think), and considering how well the Christmas song competition went, I thought I'd take the steps to organise an Valentines Day song competition. A little competition brings out the best in people, I say.
So you wanna enter? Here's how it'll work
First, write your song. It doesn't have to be lovey-dovey, that's amore style, just love related (a bitter, unrequited one from Corsair, perhaps? "I sense much anger in this one...")
Second, post your song on soundclick/youtube/soundcloud, however you'd normally do it.
PM me the link to your song. Tinam (bless her cottons) did an awesome job of keeping all the entries in one thread so people could listen and vote more easily, and I plan on doing the same
Post on the Reviews section, if you like. Not necessary, as I’ll have all the links, but a little feedback is always nice.
IF YOU DO POST in the Reviews, please please post with “VDay –“ infront of the song title. 20 threads all called valentines song, Valentines Day Song, Valentine song, song for Val and the rest is messy. And we like a nice, tidy forum, don’t we? Plus it’ll be easier to peruse the competition songs if they’re all named VDay – I Love You Like A Goat Loves Cabbages or whatever.
I’ll set up a polling station on Mon 6th with all the PM’d links. Then I’ll tally the votes (bribes welcome. Morgan Spiced rum by preference) and post the result on Mon 13th Feb.
That’s about it. If you’ve never PM’d before, just click My Messages at the top, then New Message, then under ”To:” put Mr.Chainsaw and your message and link to your entry.
