Damn good Paul!! , i seem to remember you having concerns about vocals, these vocals rock, they fit in well with the track and seem to have matured more than the last time you posted. As for the guitar work ,really good ,i like how you change styles which flows effortlessly. good work!

cheers pal, thanks for the comments! I was a bit happier with my voice on this one, but could still do better! Yeah the different guitar styles do bring the whole thing together, I wasn't sure having several styles would work but I think it has come out pretty good!

Re: my new song - The Open Page

big bolshy sound...great fret work but i cant get a handle on it, dont worry i have the same trouble with Joe Santrini...but there doesnt seem to be a theme apart from the lyric, its special to you im certain, youve obviously put loads of effort and ideas into it but i just cant get a handle on it, like the pictures too big, too many changes...(thats a new one on this forum for a start !)

if my upstairs 'delicate' neighbour was out id turn it up to eleven probably sound marvellous...
good for you for controlling the beast..

Vocals are really great, nice voice! To me this sounds like a live track though, so I'd like to hear the vocals 'lived' up a bit. I think if you just adjusted the reverb setting it would achieve this.

Like the acoustic sounding breakdown, did not see that coming!

First verse lyrics are beautifully rhymed - very clever.

cheers! The proggy feel and arrangement style isnt for everyone, I grew up listening to a lot of prog influenced rock/metal like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Dream Theater so I like to try and cram different stuff into my more epic tracks

Thank you for your kind words! I'm trying not to add to much reverb to my voice to try and make it cut through the mix a bit more!

I agree re the first verse lyrics. They weren't written by me but a friend of mine, Neil barker (goes by the name of Angry Butterfly!) who does a lot of poetry and he's bloody good if you ask me!

This is an epic song. I really like it.

The guitars are awesome and you've obviously put a lot of effort into the instrumentation and production.

I like the first verse lyrics but would have preferred more of a vocal melody there. That might just be me but overall a great song.

Cheers Justin for your feedback - I usually put a melody to my vocals but I just felt that with the lyrics on that first verse would sound better with a more aggressive vocal style in a rhyming style (the lyrics were directly from a poem written by a friend of mine)
