Re: another one

lovely mood and feel jim, great atmosphere
falls apart briefly in the middle and gets a little confusing but picks up again, really nice
but i absolutely love the hummin vocal idea, think you should develop that, its magic ..

I like this track but its more James than Jim Grin overall a nice track, will try to check your stuff as it crops up. would liked to have heard the lyrics build to a real howl

Re: another one

Very enjoyable and distinctive . The clean electric guitar parts compliment this song very well.  Overall, this has a strange hypnotic feel to it.  It's not the kind of music that I usually listen to so I find it hard to compare the genre.  Good to see that you're still an active writer.

Re: another one

Very nice Jim as usual  Grin

I think this one could be ramped right up into a rocking in your face electric guitar fest Grin

Go for it mate  Grin

Hiya Jim.

Loved that humming, you must have been very pleased when you came up with that.

I would have been Smiley

I think there are parts, when there are no vocals where it loses it a bit but that's a minor critisism, it's a great sound.

Loved the distorted bit as it faded out too. Kaf's right about the guitar fest too Smiley

Nice one.

To get a review, give some reviews. Give and take. Simples. If that's too complicated........

Re: another one

Great slow burn... A throw-back style executed nicely. Vocals lose some of their strength/gusto at 1:35ish. I think a female singer doing some nice background vocals with you at the 1:55 mark would be sweet, maybe carrying some of the humming vocals with her through to the end. Just a suggestion. Very cool song.

Re: another one

Really like the verses on this. As many others have said the humming works a treat.
For me though, it weakens (the recording, not the song) on the 'she's the prettiest girl' etc bit, both because of the bottom end disappearing,
and because the timing gets a bit stilted. What I think would fix this a treat is a deep tremolo'd electric guitar on these bits with
the tremolo set to the tempo of the song. this would be a very 'in keeping' sound and keep the pressure on right through the track.

I must admit I'm a huge fan of tremolo - as you'll see as my stuff appears on here - so I'm biased, but other things you could do instead would be a bass and/or a reverberated floor tom on those bits. I'll post one of my songs that is in similar territory to show what I mean - It's called 'Rainsong'

Re: another one

you did it again jim. great swampy feel to this one, keep watching that timing. the humming peace is great and that wah is just amazing (frogs in a swamp). tony joe white and johnny guitar watson are these your hero's?

Re: another one

Hi,
I like this, has a nice atmosphere & some good sounds. A thought on listening to it a second time was that some industrial sounding percussion would fit a treat, but that's just a personal view. Nice one  Smiley
