Ever had this happen to you ????

I was just mixing a song and another one just popped into my head so I had to break off immediately and record the idea before it went.

This is the version 1 demo of that song. I only just sang what came into my head so no proper lyrics yet but I've got one verse.

Think it's going to be one of those songs that might be ruined by too much tinkering !!

Let me know your thoughts.

John

Lyrics - So far.....

With You

Anytime I feel afraid
I feel at home with you
Any time I’m feeling down
I’m feeling up with you
When you want to do me
Any make my heart anew
I feel at home with you

Don’t have to tell you I love you
I’ll always be there

your vocals sound great on this...i love the guitar break at 1:50...quite unusual and sounded fab

That's appropriate - Paul just said "I like this, John".  ;)

I agree with everything Paul said. One of your best vocals and the progression really is quite Beatley ...

I actually heard "When you answer to me" instead of "when you want to do me" and that might be a more mainstream lyric.

For a flash of inspiration this is already amazing and you should hone it. At the end I would think it should be a bit shorter - and just needs "Paul's middle 8"  ;D

Thanks for the ace feedback guys  :) I am definitely going to keep going with this song.

Totally agree, at the moment it's too long and I need a "Paul" middle 8

It's mostly been said - Beatles, nice vocals and melody. Def worth pursuing!
I would call it "I Feel at Home with You" if that hook isn't used by someone famous  ;D
Add a M8, cut to three mins and you've got a hit!

Like this John, I think its all been said. Beatlish vibe, good lyrics and melody. I`ll be interested to hear what the finished product sounds like. Good luck with.

Good song..just needs tightening a little...and bring the vox up when it's finalised.

I agree with previous posters; Great song. Vocals are very good and well recorded. Could be a wee bit shorter.
Great stuff, it's a keeper!

Still a heck of a lot of sibilance in the vox mate... :)

Hi Pomp,

Early British Invasion....I like the fifties vibe inspiration in the arrangement and vocals .
I'd drop the guitars back a bit and clear out the vocal space with a little EQ and push your lead vocal a lot further upfront....you deserve to be heard!!!!
I think pull.... the verb and delay a little on the break....
A little Ooh and Ahh in the BG would lift it up a bit as well (different for verse and chorus)....
A very sweet listen....

I like this one. Melodically its really simple but nice. It's got a nice soothing lullaby kinda feel to it. There's a nice rhythm in the guitars too. The harmonies on the middle 8 (I think it is the middle 8 section that starts 'I don't have to tell you I love you'?) followed by a little change in momentum really adds to the song as does the nice wee guitar solo. The Beatles seems to be bang on the mark as others have said but it in many ways sounds more contemporary and t times I felt it had a Beautiful South feel about it.
