OK here's my entry for the showcase.

"Halloween" was a 1978 film by John Carpenter. It quickly became a cult movie and I remember watching it several times until I virtually knew the dialogue to the whole movie. I was playing in a 3 piece rock band at the time and so wrote a song for us which was basically an outline of the plot of the film. The song was never recorded but just floated around in my head for the past thirty odd years. I quickly recorded it this afternoon for the October competition.

It's important that you are aware that this was written in the 1970's. These were the days before political correctness was born and misogyny was the order of the day. So please forgive the offensive lyrics from a naive teenager.

HALLOWEEN

Halloween 1963,  he killed his sister out of jealousy
Doctor Loomis says he'll never go free
But you know that he's wrong

She's an innocent high school girl
Babysitting with a psycho on the prowl
She thinks she's safe in her middle class world
But you know that she's wrong

Oh Halloween you get to me
Jamie Lee Curtis you're my fantasy
Michael Myers is after me
It's crazy but I think that it's true

Laurie's sitting for the Doyle's kid
Annie's hoping that she's gonna get laid
But he strangles her till she's dead in the back of her car

Bob's with Linda,  she looks like a w***e
He kills Bob by the kitchen door
Cuts his throat, he falls to the floor
Oh what a night

Oh Halloween you get to me
Jamie Lee Curtis you're my fantasy
Michael Myers is after me
It's crazy but I think that it's true

He chases Laurie up the stairs
In the wardrobe she's a hiding scared
But Michael knows that she's in there
Kicks down the door

She sticks a knitting needle in his eye
But Michael Myers he just won't die
The doctor shoots him, then he sighs
"He's got away"

Oh Halloween you get to me
Jamie Lee Curtis you're my fantasy
Michael Myers is after me
It's crazy but I think that it's true

Hi people, I'm a newbie to this forum but I have attached a song below for you all.
It's about a seance put on by a fictional character named 'Uncle Harvey'.I don't have an uncle Harvey
that I'm aware of and this is purely plucked from my great matter.

Why a seance you ask? Well seance are the gateway to the dead.Perfect for Halloween I thought.
Enough of that, here goes, enjoy!

Uncle Harvey's Seance

Sat round the table holding hands
Yes we're trying to talk to you
This bizarre old medium has a cleft lip
As the messages start filtering through
Uncle Harvey's asks why did she leave
And the medium strangely swings her head
She's mutters through dreamy like eyes
Cause she wanted to be dead

The rain is wild outside
It lashes against the pane
The spirits are taking us for a ride
As they bombard us then wane

I swear I felt a draft or is it just the room
Then the lady to my right squeezes my hand
Are you scared dear of our ghostly friends
Don't be scared the deceased rule the land
And Uncle Harvey's pipes up again
Who is coming through now?
I see a lost soul a troubled young man
Scared of his shadow he went insane

The wind whistles and moans in waves
It strikes us all with real fear
We need the people our heart craves
Give us some comfort, are you here?

Then the lady shakes wildly in her seat
And Uncle Harvey's says who's there?
I am Michael of the late Truebold estate
And the table sighs in nonchalant despair
Uncle Harvey's a fake cries the voice
And the room becomes ill at ease
What does that mean then
Give us some proof so we can make our choice

The window flys open with real intent
Everyone screams at the unexpected move
Was it nature or was it meant
The spirits are mad, do they not approve

Let's stop this nonsense now
Shouts Mr Fellows from number 10
Sssh the spirits are coming closer
The medium barks as she sways again
And the table bobs up and down
Then the door swings open at the back
Sir there is a phonecall for you
Damn shouts uncle Harvey with a frown
