Thanks for the feedback mate! I agree on the timing/continuity issues - which I sometimes I have trouble with because, whilst I can better that with more takes, the further I get in the number of takes the more I lose the feel in the songs. So I guess I have to strike a balance. But with regards to additional instruments, the simplicity/solo element is a driving idea for the whole record for me - Agreeably not to everyone's tastes though! Upon reading your comment, I went and had a listen to your stuff as 'Ramshackles' and really liked it. Very good and soulful music, a far cry from the falsely marketed rubbish that seems to plague the genre these days.
Marketing: Do you use Hype Machine? You probably do, but if not it's a great tool to find all the relevant blogs in the blog directory. I did a folk tag search and fired off hundreds of emails, which got a few nice mentions and reviews. I'd strongly recommend sending a hard copy to some of the Folk biggies like Froots, The Living Tradition, etc. Google 'Folk Yourself' and try to get a listing on there, as they appear to get loads of visitors.
