So heres what I am trying to do. When I am recording vocals or drums, the signal that is coming out of my headphones is very weak, and has a low volume. Its annoying to have to raise the master slider on logic pro, and so I was thinking of an alternative method. I think a headphone amp is what I need to just raise the volume of the signal in the headphones without affecting the mix. Can you guys recommend to me a good headphone amp with atleast 4 inputs and outputs? Thats how many I have on my audio interface (m-audio quad).

For vocals, I cant really hear my voice currently, I can barely hear it over my mix.
And for recording drums, the sound of my kit is overpowering the mix even with sound isolation headphones.

Thank you in advance for your recommendations!

Are you plugging your headphones into the MAudio Quad, cause doesnt that have a volume control on it? It should give you more volume than you could ever use. Id check your set up on the interface first and foremost.

So on my interface, I have 4 inputs with 4 different knobs which control the volume of the signal of each input. Raising this knob would increase the volume of the signal in my DAW of the inputs (Logic Pro X). If I set these volumes to high, they will clip and sound with static. I also have a knob for headphone volume, but it raises the entire mix instead of the individual inputs. I wanted a way to increase my vocals without it affecting the mix.

Basically hear my vocals loud in my headphones but the volumes would stay the same in Logic Pro. I was looking at this.

I also need new headphones to hold me off for a bit.

Have you set up a "monitoring bus" within logic?

I would suggest investigating this option first - eg

Your main "master" would go to outputs 1 & 2

You can then create a "monitoring bus" using sends that you can output to 3 & 4

This way you can have a completely separate monitoring mix without affecting your main mix at all

I do not use logic but it should be pretty easy to suss out

I have to research a little bit on busses, as I am not to familiar with them. If it's possible to do this through busses, ill definitly give it a shot! Thank you so much for your responses!

Monitoring Busses would be the normal approach for this scenario so I hope this gets you sorted without having to spend any £$£$£$£ - which you can put towards new headphones!

For sound isolation I really like my Beyerdynamic DT770 Pros (around £120) although they can be a bit "hot n sweaty" after a while

For general monitoring and mixing I am LOVING my KRK KNS8400s, which are just shy of £100 and they are super comfortable

When I am not doing any music production I use my BOSE AE2W headphones (around £145)

These are perfect for wireless use with my iPad and phone and are the most comfortable headphones as they are sooooo light

(I also use Shure525 in-ear monitors when playing with bands and Bose in-ear's for running & gym)

I do like my headphones  ;)

This is my current setup in my studio.

I got mackie monitors for monitoring, but I need a nice pair of headphones for all around recording. I want a pair that don't bleed as much for recording vocals, and other instruments. Out of the pair that maybe you mentioned, what is the best for achieving this?

I would go for the DT770 Pros for what you are describing
