Emmylou Harris was my introduction to country music after years of rejecting my parent's version, far too much sugar. So in a contest between Emmylou and Tammy Wynette, Emmylou will always win.

However, Emmylou was just the beginning and I dug out lots of country performers I'd never have listened to if not for her.

One of whom was Rose Maddox.
