Ya'll helped me sort out the lyrics for this one and for that, I thank you.
Here is the finished recording. I would love to hear what you think.

I absolutely fell in love with this song.

A rather sad little song that tugs at your heartstrings while simultaneously getting you to smile, and even laugh out loud without losing the sadness.

The lead in was mildly jarring, and led me to expect different music than was actually delivered.... but I think that's actually part of the charm.  Aside from that, the music is perfect for this.  Manic and almost happy but still fitting the funny/sad lyric.

Hey,

This has a really great energy to it and the guitars and drum roll at the begging do a great job of making the listener sit up and pay attention. Fantastic singing and the simple clapping percussion is so simple, but so effective.

Reminded me of a band I used to love a few years ago but i can't recall their name "less then Jake" i think they were called but I might be mis-remembering.

Any way, really liked it. Can't think of anything that I could say by way of critique.. so i won't.

Good work

Sounds good to me.  I'm not sure what else to say.  I'm not much help in reviews, but I just don't see anything that sticks out as needing attention.

Todd
Looking forward to this and then it said power pop, just my cup of tea.
Had me hooked in the first bar. Handclaps and all.
Only points from me was the first line of the solo was less committed than the other vocals and I'd redo 'I want to earn it;
Great slab of energy. Going to play it again.
 :) :) :)

Great energy, has a high energy Drive By Truckers vibe to me which is all good. Nothing to add critique wise but enjoyed listening, I just need to lie down for a few minutes now  :)

Great energy to the track and insanely catchy!

Handclaps are inspired and add such a punchy feel to the bridges/choruses.
I can't find anything really that I'd suggest changing in this. I can so imagine this being used in a typical American romantic comedy e.g. I love you man, something about Mary etc.

Great work!

Thanks Devy an Dan!
It is a free download so, seriously, have at it. I just want folks to hear it and make it a part of their lives. It's easier to do so if it's in you music library.
So… download away. And, please tell and play it for your friends.
:D

Some songs are a slow burn, building up to the hook. This one grabbs you by the balls from the opening bars and assails you mercilessly until the end leaving you with hair all messy and wondering wtf has just happened.

Infectious is the word,'Break my Heart' is the song. I'm blown away by what I find on this site.

Have I just stumbled on a lost "Barenaked Ladies" track from the mid nineties?!

It sounds like I have and that make me happy!  ;D ;D

The main hook leading into each chorus is such a great pop tricks that i MUST use one day.

There are things about the recording I would do differently, but what you have works a charm and has so much fun and energy

Even the do do dos and guitar lines are making me think of Barenaked Ladies

Awesome  ;D ;D
