Hi Alan,

Sorry to bump this, but someone did a cover of a song in a guitar forum i frequent. I checked out the original and it reminded me of your kind of thing - Parachute. The song was Kiss Me Slowly.

Don't know if it helps,

Digger

[quote author=diademgroveThe songs of yours I've listened to often remind me of 1970s California with a hint of Bakersfield country.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

I couldn't agree more. Dan Messina was the first name that popped into my mind, along with David Gates from Bread. I listened to "Believe" and it just blew me away. I put Gary Barlow in the same group as Ronan Keating and Oasis, irrelevant and not worth listening to. Your voice really does have that 1970's "Ventura Highway" kind of vibe.

You sound like "Alan Starkie" Heard of him? Yes indeed, and this guy is good. Forget the comparisons, and don't lose any sleep. Some of my fav writers were strangers to the middle of the road, but i would lie in the ditch with those guys for all eternity. Be who you are, and don't sell out. That's all.
