                                      Davy

Davy, wont you come in from the rain
Pull that cord and step down from the train
            Youre losing track
Time to throw away the cane
Davy wont you come in from the rain

Davy, wont you come in from the cold
What you have there in your pocket isnt gold
            Its a losing hand
            Time for you to fold
Davy wont you come in from the cold

            Cripples need their crutches
            Kites rely on strings
            But you dont need assistance
The sky wont break your wings

Davy, leave those corner boys alone
They love your money not your flesh and bone
            All theyve got are monkeys
            And saddlebags of stone
Davy leave those corner boys alone

Davy, dont let this be your fate
Please roll down your sleeve and close the gate
            You can start again
The hour is not too late
Davy, dont let this be your fate

            Cripples need their crutches
            Kites rely on strings
            But you dont need assistance
The sky wont break your wings

Davy never came in from the rain
His heart gave out and passed down all the pain
            The tears he cried
            In other eyes remain
Davy never came in from the rain.

Vintage,
Liking this a lot. Has the feel of a song to it.
Cleaver use of the name makes its sound personal.
Like the rhyming scheme, repeating last lines of the verse and the chorus.
