Hey all.

I made a little video about (very basically) how we write music in my band Winter 1982. It's only short and intended to send out to blogs and promoters etc but thought you might be interested in seeing it. Not hugely inciteful but, you know, it's a start!

Let me know your thoughts

Like the video! Nicely put together.

There are only 2 of you? You make great sounds for that. Is that through supplementing with programmed sounds? Or session musicians? Or are you both multi-talented instrumentally?

I'm interested in how you (and also others on the forum who work alone or in very small bands) translate what you do for performing live?

Hey,

When we record we do a bit of everything. Luke is more multi instrumental than me - I tend to stick to singing and guitar parts , both electric and acoustic, Luke plays piano, bass, guitar, some drums too. In the studio you can layer anything so only needs what we bring though our producer on Friend was great and played some drums for us.

Live we perform acoustic, stripped back versions of the music but for a large show would work with session musicians to match the sound we recorded.

 HEY REALLY ENJOYED THAT

i just wish people with your talent wouldn't write for yourselves
there should be a written law that you have to rely on lyricists
 and perform other peoples lyrics

hahaha only joking NOT with your talent you will be going to the highs of fame
 loved your sound

             nice job guys
