Hi all,

Don't know if this is the correct place to post this but:

"Mardigrass" are looking for new original songs to record for their next CD later this year.

We would be pleased to receive new songs for consideration subject to the following:

* The song must be bluegrass style or suitable for grassing up;
* No "love" songs or songs about love or relationships please;
* No "first person" songs please;
* Up-tempo preferred;
* Complete songs (music and lyrics) only please;
* Sorry but we cannot enter into correspondance about your songs, if we like it we will contact you PRIOR to recording, if you do not hear from us then it will be because we have chosen not to use your material.

Please send MP3's (only) to: steve.luckett@btinternet.com

Many thanks.

Why don't "Mardigrass" just write their own songs?

Although I don't quite have anything suitable at the moment, I'm going to give this a crack of the next couple of days. I can't get enough of bluegrass and country and folk and blues ect

While we're on this note, check out these guys, they've just cut a record in Nashville on Jack White's Third Man label. Some mean picking! http://vimeo.com/21605201

Hi,

Mardigrass do write our songs but we are looking for 12 songs for the next CD and want to put the best songs we possibly can on it.

Many thanks.

Steve.

That's a real shame. Are your songs you write not good enough?

Nope. We are very good at picking Bluegrass (Mandolin, Guitar, Banjo, Fiddle, Double Bass) and  very good singers ( all four of us sing, lead and/or harmony) but apart from a couple of songs we have judged to be good, our song writing is average, hence we are casting the net wider than the band.

If you are interested in submitting a song (s) then we'd be really, really, pleased to hear from you. The details are all above.

Many thanks

I would really love to help you but I don't feel I could write in your genre.

I hope you do find someone on here who can help and I'd love to hear the result. However, remember keep at the songwriting and it'll improve!  :)
