This is available for £180 online and it seems like a pretty good deal to me. Does anyone else have experience using this set up?

I want to be able to record mainly a guitar and vocals, but occasionally another guitar, vocal and percussion. Does this seem like an appropriate purchase?

I would really appreciate any help from you guys, I'm clueless when it comes to electronics!

Hiya

I don't have direct experience

BUT...

This is the setup I would whole heartedly recommend to a beginner

The Focusrite stuff is great

Don't forget you will need a stand as well  ;)

Awesome. You mean a mic stand, right?

Yup - and pay the extra for a sturdy "boom" mic stand (rather than a straight upright one) as it will be MUCH more versatile and you will regret it if you don't

It may cost a few pennies more but don't underestimate the value of a sturdy boom mic stand  ;)

Hi

I have the Scarlett it's great.  I just have the interface not the headphones or mic and mine is the one above which is the 2i4.  My headphones are Beyerdynamic DT 770's as I am now doing a lot of mixing and they need to be sensitive but prior to that they were bog standard ones and they were good for a couple of years!

But I have got a sturdy mic stand as Boydie mentioned it's very useful. I can also recommend spending money on the best mic you can afford as well, that is suitable for recording. as soon as you can, it makes a huge difference

The package looks good for the price, if you are just starting out I would say go for it!
