Hi,

I am a topliner from the UK. I have been working with a young female duo in the pop / soul genres for the last 18 months and I am looking for collabs with other writers, both for the duo that I currently write for and other projects.

My writing style is very suited to ballads but I have also written to rnb and more recently dance tracks.

Best wishes
Mark

... a girl/guy who 'invents' a tune and lyrics on top of a 'beat' (or backing track or chord progression). Modern pop is created like that.

I'm beginning to do this myself. Until now I've insisted on a vocal line that I could find lyrics for. But modern producers 'build' complete - mostly electronic - backing tracks that they then need vocals for. That would be the melody, actually.

Ideally, the top-line writer should be the singer as well. Yet if the singer is not a good lyricist you need someone else to complete the song. I'm supposed to do top-line writing for young girls in the future (I am an old man, my voice is deepest bass!). Got to move with the times, I guess...

PMed him to mediate between him and a guy who needs a topline writer (the one I'm supposed to write for as well).

Mark is not of the responsive kind, it seems.

So it's back to our usual 'business', I guess.
