Hi,
May I introduce my latest work with  a Spanish guitar. What do you think? Any thoughts are welcome, even harsh critique. I’ve worked so much on this one that I'm no longer able to listen to it with an open ear myself. As well as being the guitar player I'm also the composer of this song.

The Bug

http://www.reverbnation.com/nilaramis

Hey, I was fine!
Chatting with my girlfriends
And sipping at my wine.
Now, here's this bloke!
He's getting on my nerves
Is this somebody's joke?
He looks like a blind man
who must have dressed alone
He thinks he's a super hero
But My he's badly drawn.

Chorus:

This is much more than I can take
How can I make him take a break
Just a bug in the jungle
But he makes me sick

I have had the time to count his hairs,
To check the fire exit
To see how the others are happy where he is not
St Francis would have known
how you could trick this creature
to leave me on my own.
But he goes on talking
and even with his hands
if I could keep on walking
I'd be in Wonderland!

Chorus:

This is much more than I can take
How can I make him take a break
Just a bug in the jungle
But he makes me sick

Oh, if only he would go away!
Maybe a Chinese torture treatment
Wouldn't make him want to stay
Or if I could feed him to the rats
Anything at all, not to have to suffer that
What on earth could I have done
to always get the worst?
I f I had a magic cure,
at last my freedom would come first!

Hi Zelig,

That's just cool from the word go.  The music and lyrics fit wonderfully well together.  Great guitar work too!

Fantastic atmosphere in this song. The vocal style isn't to my taste, but it's very well done. The lyrics are really nice and do fit with the melody and harmony perfectly. The guitar playing is superb *jealousy* and I think you have nothing to be worried about.

What more can I say? Your band is very accomplished and the presentation of your work is first class. Looking forward to hearing more.

This is brilliant. Very quirky! Is this the same girl I commented on singing asking if she was Scandanavian - was it on a song called Just Trust the Tales if I can recall?

She's got such a lovely voice.

Thanks to all of you. We have worked very hard on this one to find the right atmosphere, the right way to sing and to play the guitar, so I’m really glad you appreciate the result. We worked very hard on the lyrics as well, to try to make them a bit funny and not too bitchy. Thanks to your comments I now get a feeling of relief and I finally feel it's safe to say that we can leave this one behind and dedicate ourselves to another song.
Yes, Massa, she’s the same Scadinavian girl.
Yes Andy, a video would be nice. I’m thinking about it actually, but I haven’t found a solution for it so far.

Great production, superb playing, really hooks you by the lip painlessly. Evokes a number of styles from around the world, but without actually pinning it down to one location. Some French, some Latin, some Arabic. You're not Aiwa in disguise are you?

Very accomplished song and production. You can always tell a good song by the way it feels so natural, nothing sounds out of place and for me, I just love that walking bass, I wish I could play like that, really keeps the song moving nicely. Really good.

Wonderful in many ways, lyrics, music arrangement. I thought the vocal style put a barrier up. From the previous track you posted and even with this track the vocalist is clearly gifted but I think that her marvellous charachteristics where a bit exaggerated and stylized on this number. A slightly more straightforward delivery will knock everyone dead. Great song.

    Dutchabeat,
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

    Sonic-R
I didn’t know who Aiwa was. Now I know. I love world music and I’m very influenced by it. Thanks.

    Hofnerite,
I wish I could play like the double bass player too. He’s a real jazzman and yes, he can swing.
    Thanks.

I totally understand what you’re saying about the singer. The vocal part was the most difficult part to record. We had to make a decision about the way to do it and I must say I like it (I just relistened to the tune) but it’s a bit exaggerated and I get your reaction.
Maybe this is due to the fact that the idea of the song is mine. And I had to convince the singer who is a really sweet girl and at the beginning, she didn’t want to sing my lyrics .

Vocals are not to my taste..

however the production is very well done in my opinion especially the guitar work
completely different from my own punk rock jam way of playing I must admit

I have a sneaky suspicion I would love this acoustic and slower
but who am I to judge just a kid right?

enjoyed your music friend
