Introducing yourself on a forum is a bit like that awkward question in a job interview: tell me something about yourself. The last interview I had I got so exasperated, even though I knew the question was coming, I went off on some stream of consciousness train of thought that basically said I don't really know anything about myself; you'll have to ask someone who knows me.

So, esoteric claptrap to one side, I'm Chris, from the north west of England, been making music for just over two years and consider myself a bit of a fake. I can't sing and can't play a single note on any instrument unless it involves my m-Audio synth, playing one or two notes at a time followed by several minutes of processing it in Logic. I do have a lot of patience though.

Musical influences are trance, metal (especially of the 80s big hair kind), classical and, oh loads of stuff from Nightwish to Jake Thackray, Burt Bacharach to Asian Dub Foundation.

My musical ambition is to find someone who can sing.

Hi Chris and thanks for the unusual and entertaining introduction! I think your ambitions are very modest, and you're certain to find a great singer before long.

Looking forward to hearing your music.

Tone :)

Thanks Tone. My music at the moment sounds a bit weird without vocals.

And your music is cool!

so, don't worry about how you make it, the result is spectacular (and I will love to hear it once you have the singer for it)
i like your specific computer / synthesizer sound and the music you come up with

'Bit of a fake' my ass, Chris. There's a lot of skill in step timing/programming - which is why your stuff sounds so good. I enjoy a fair bit of it myself (did a whole instrumental album of it myself in '96, I'll have you know). Loved every minute of it and I'm just as proud of it as anything I've done in real time.

One has to be modest about these things.  ;)

Glad you like the stuff.

My musical ambition is to find someone who can sing.
Anyone can sing. I managed to front a loud rock band just because I could keep in tune and learned to breath properly.
Like everything else it's finding a good teacher and practice.
But above all....confidence!

I'll rephrase that: I need to find someone who can sing properly!  ;D
