An idea sexy people...

Now that some of us have released material through distributors (myself, seriousfun, Tone... there are more but I forget!) and many have selected "Spotify" as a release option, should someone set up a forum playlist, into which people can add the forumite songs/albums?

It seems like a no lose situation - an avenue to promote our work on there and earn some more of those precious 1/3 pennies per play (seriously, it is joke what non-label artists get paid! But that is another matter...)

I don't actually know Spotify very well.... I have an account but I buy so many CDs I rarely use it! Can someone who uses it a lot explain playlists, group playlists, sharing playlists?

This idea might fall flat if few of us are on there, but I thought it was worth bringing up...

Hi,

I know its an old thread but this is totally a good idea.  By creating a playlist and then pushing/promoting that in a few places it will get our streams and hence revenues higher.  Spotify is good for this, and deezer is also pretty good for it. 

I would propose setting a playlist up as a trial, with each artist interested nominating 1-3 songs to add.  Anyone in there, then has to take on some of the promotion, sharing, liking of it, etc. 

We could do this for both spotify and deezer.  Anyone else interested ?

Did I miss this the first time round? I'm about to release my album on Spotify among other platforms. And so of course, I think this is an excellent idea

I've tried to set it as collaborative, so you should be able to add songs direct to it.  If not, post some links here and I'll add them.

Shouldn't be too difficult at all Boydie - there's a code generator in the Spotify share function, your developer could literally copy/ paste it into the forum theme. The bigger problem is where on the page to put it?
