Hey up peeps. As you may have heard me say when quizzed on whether I'd participate in this section, I am allergic to being videoed. Or so I thought....

But when I found myself being guerilla-videoed at this open mic night, I had no choice but to deal with it. And although it threw me off a little bit singing-wise, I think it went quite well.

If you've got half an hour to spare, the guy taped the whole set! :D

Each song is an individual clip so feel free to watch just one or as many as you want ;)

Yeah, had a listen last night..i think it`s very brave to get up and do this, shows you have to be a competent musician...no stopping to start again and that(would be me).....lot of talking going on, but this happens at those gigs....got to `pinch` those nerves as my friend Mim says....hmm.... Raised by wolves is my favorite on your set.!

Thanks for having a listen STC. You're right, it does take plucking up some courage, but to those who haven't done it yet but want to, I would highly recommend it.

The first few times are quite painful, but after that it become even enjoyable :D

Hey Tone.

I went straight to 'Killing is my business' - love that song man.

It's one of those songs you write that sets your own bar higher. Know what I mean?

There's not many of those in a songwriters catalogue but that's what makes it special.

Cheers.

I'm still trying to pluck up the courage to get on stage without a band behind me.
Very pleased you did it. And with originals too.  :)

One thing though. I'd have opened with Killing is my business which I think was the strongest song in the set and kept the first slow number till third. But I understand the need to ease into the gig.

So when you playing next?  ;D
I have no authority or standing here, only opinions. :-)

Alan & Mihkay, thanks for your comments. I highly recommend plucking up the courage to play your own songs solo. It is pretty terrifying to begin with, but once you get over the initial jitters, it's a great way to test-drive songs. The ones people seem to like aren't always the ones you think...

yeah; great hook; the guitar does some simple but very powerful stuff after the line "killing is my business"
You perform like a pro :)

It s even more brave if one performes his own songs - covers suck :)

very cool man

Hats off for having the balls to play 6 of your own songs, solo with just a guitar in front of a typical audience who aren't giving you their full attention. I thought you came over well - strong vocals and fine guitar playing. I'd have done the last song first as well.

I've done this once on my own and I was scared shitless and that was 2 just songs with a much politer audience. A brave thing to do indeed.

Thanks for sharing.
