A painful observation of all of you here
Pessimistic, overdriven, troglodytive
Hello! My name is: NAME TAG
Please laminate my head
Stick me in a cubicle
Ass-fuck me 'till i'm dead

Hurricanes and earthquakes love my zen Malthusian
'cause you reek of all your cronies and dirty nepotism
I am just an effigy burning up in flames
I'd rather be just thrown away than ever born again

Suicidal tendencies cut into my flesh
To dream in phenobarbital into foreverness
I am the vicious mirror that anorexics fear
Permanent obfuscation
Believing it's real

The point blank honesty that has made you hate my face
Also makes your own opinion of no fucking consequence
My only friends are mannequins who linger on Facebook
I just posted my obituary and no one even looked

You`ve been away Darren....yes this is a good track..need a few more listens to get in to it more....but it`s got your signature sound ,thats for sure.
Guitars and percussion sound great...could be George Harrison  ;)......string arrangement in the back ground holding all together nicely.
Not sure the vocals couldn`t be a bit more forward, touch clearer..i found it hard working out the lyrics...but not a major point really. :)

Hey, welcome back Darren  ;D

I loved the percussion on this and it has your trademark sound and originality. I'd have liked the vocals higher in the mix and a little more variation melodically in the verses but that said, it's not a pop song. There is an hypnotic, eastern quality about this - I see what songsthatcry  means.

There are some great lines here. "To dream in phenobarbital into foreverness" is sensational and there are plenty of others. I think that lyrically it's your strongest song yet. Super production, great attitude, original and a welcome return.

I liked the song, but haven't yet formed an opinion of what it is about the song that is likeable.

I'll try to get back to it and figure it out.

Hello;

So, my first post here is on your song ! :)

Okay - what i like a lot, is the whole "attitude" of this song. We need more brave people in this world, who are willing to try sth new, to create sth new. "thumbs up" man.

Okay; how "could" you improve this in my eyes?

I think it s sooo great, that you try to come up with some creative percussion. It s almost like dubstep?
Definetely not a "one" "and" kinda rythm thing.

Why not build it up more cautious. I guess you have several percussion layers in your DAW. Why not bring in the base drum first, then add the other "stuff" measure by measure.

I feel the same about the other instruments. You could build it up a little more...cautious :) But it s also, what makes the song so "in your face" so....you see, it s hard to give advice here :)

I enyoed this listen a lot.

And i m not quiet sure about how i feel after listening to this.

Great job man

wow cool thanks ppl very much for the listen!
I have limited Internet access as I'm traveling and not having much luck streaming everyone's songs.

this started as just that: blueprint for a throw away song to show rest of band.

but it sounded interesting as sound sculpture and since I have to write beats sometimes at work/day job
I just pushed the envelope here across many genre lines as far as blending styles goes -- of electronica / techno / dub / trip hop / alternative
all MIDI - I actually wrote most of it around klopfest midi blip I tuned to D
(all Guitars tuned to DADGAD) an doubled on top metronome beat - the song oscillates odd-time from 10/8 to 8/8 in various sub-patterns giving the panoply of eastern percussion instruments employed the room to "go there"

lyrics weren't edited just sorta free association
social commentary satire snapshot I wrote after a corporate meet and greet
at new job.

acoustic guitars recorded in atrium studio - electric guitars through Mesa boogie Dual R 4x12s

still going to make this full band song one day so this will be alternate version/mix
Etc.. or maybe the band version will be the alternate ... as I'm starting to like the uniqueness here
and may use it for the video -

I like the fusion of electronica with your trademark vocal/guitar style

I think it works really well

I would presonally tweak the mix a little to have the "electronica" a little more subtle and in the background to add a "flavour" rather than a "mash up" (if that makes sense)

I am an absolute sucker for intersting rhythms and counter rhythms so there was plenty here to keep me happy

I thought things got a little "messy" from around 2.50 but it is great to experiment

Overall though I really enjoyed the song a lot - great stuff!

Different, but with your trademark sound, which is an achievement in itself of you are experimenting with different ways of working
