Well, what can I say, I didn't have a speech ready...
Firstly I would like to thank my wife who on my suggestion due to health reasons she should loose a few stone, never spoke to me for 3 days giving me the time to write.
I would like to thank my children for leaving home, my agent but I haven't got one.
Obviously the cheque will be beneficial just before Chipma, (with seven grandchildren I still have got 87 presents to get) but obviously the trophy will take pride of place on the mantelpiece.
At last I will be able to sleep tonight, I must admit the excitement got to me, especially with the time difference, or was it Sylvie next door having another party?
Most of all I thank God, safe in the knowledge that I could never have written the winning lyric because I wasn't born in Liverpool, this is what I am most thankful for!!
