Hi there,

this is my song called "I'm Learning".
The song's about life and relationship - learning step by step  :)

I'm always looking for vocalists, who'd like to sing my songs.
The song can be sung by female or a male vocalist. So, if someone's interested, leave a message...

~I'M LEARNING~

If I could see myself like you can do
If I could take this moment and break it through
If I could do these things I want to do
If I could learn something ‘bout myself – something new

Life ain’t life and love ain’t love
Ain’t it me or am I rough
Time is just a word to say...
Like a word you can’t turn to play

I see me in my dreams
And still I want to get some sense about the mean‘

If they say my words ain’t true
If they say I don’t know what to do
- I’m learning ‘bout my life – ‘bout me and you

When my star is burning up
When he loses its position at the top
If he dies alone at night
There’ll be no one to hold him tight

I see me in my dreams
And still I want to get some sense about the mean‘

If they say my words ain’t true
If they say I don’t know what to do
- I’m learning ‘bout my life – ‘bout me and you

When I cry alone at night
When I’m still tryin‘ to catch my pride
When I throw away your voice
You know it’s my own choice

If they say my words ain’t true
If they say I don’t know what to do
- I’m learning ‘bout my life – ‘bout me and you

If they say my words ain’t true
If they say I don’t know what to do
- I’m learning ‘bout my life – ‘bout me and you

It was you, it was you, only you

Hi Marc

You say you are looking for vocalists.... why?   You have the full package here: great lyrics, bound together by an awesome pop-rock song and stitched together with impressive production and instrumentation.   What's not to like?

A great track.  Almost too good for this forum!   I'm now going to check out your other tracks on Soundcloud........

Hi.

Really good job on this one. A nice, driving melody, great guitars and fantastic production - I can hear the kick and bass even on my iPhone speaker, but they still sit well on my full system.

I find the way you've personified "my star" slightly odd. It's not something I would think of as a "him" - and in any case, I don't think you've been consistent with the pronoun:

When he loses its position at the top

I like the chorus lyrics. They're simple, memorable and get the point across.

Your singing's good, but if there's any issue, it's that you seem to be better at the difficult stuff than the easy stuff! You've got some great held notes with full timbre in the choruses. But earlier on, it almost seems like you're singing too hard. When singing hard and putting a metallic edge in the voice, it's tricky to come in exactly on pitch, and the note needs time to settle. This is especially true in the voice's lower register. And in your verses, you've got a lot of short, fairly low notes, so when you try to hit them hard, it doesn't quite feel like you're in full control.

So maybe just don't push so hard in your lower range when the song's energy doesn't need it? (Disclaimer: I may be totally wrong about all of this.)

In any case, the singing still sounds pretty good. I wouldn't have mentioned it if you hadn't said you were looking for vocalists...

Matt

Thanks for your great feedback. I'm glad you like it.
I really tried my best to do a good demo quality.
Why I'm looking for vocalists is because I'm not a performer; and I don't want to be. ::) I see myself as a songwriter only. I like the thought to hear my songs sung by another voice.
As most songwriters do, I'm trying to get my songs placed to Labels or artists (and they don't have to be famous). And that's the main reason why I'm looking for a session singer. In my opinion the A&R's can't imagine, how the song would sound, when it's sung by their artists. The best would be to send them a high quality demo with the original artists voice, that you're trying to pitch. ???

So once again, thank you!!!

Marc

So what artists come to your mind, when you listen to the song?
Can you suggest some names, this song would suit to?

Maybe this could help me to pitch it to the right one.

I can hear Jon Bon Jovi singing it. Not sure it'd be easy to pitch it to him though. And I've heard he's a bit of a **** to do business with!

Sure, this would be great to hear him sing my song, but I guess this is "mission impossible" ;). I thought about artists who do not write songs on their own.

I could imagine this song in the country-rock scene, just as sciencebase said. And I know most of these artists don't write their own songs, so this could be a small chance... But my main problem is, that I do not know many country-rock artists by now.
So I need some names. Just names-no contact information; I'll get them anyway. But I need to know some names.
Can you help me out? :)
