fantastic showstopping number as all the cast return to the stage for the final bows
exciting hearing it build
the bridge pause is very theatrical and whole thing sounds like a stage/tv spectacular
..its terrific
applause
applause
great stuff
this could be the winner
Thank you for the kind words Nooms. I've only ever gone to the theatre a few times in my life (and, except for Little Shop of Horrors, I don't like musicals all that much). So maybe I'm a hypocrite and don't even know it! Anyway, as others have detected I DO like drama so I'm super happy if that comes across.
Thanks again!
Paul

Well done Paul - you have a lot of happy listeners here!

I'm already singing along to this song, which proves it's a great feel-good uplifting crimbo classic!

It reminds me of being six years old, feeling excited about christmas and waiting for santa to come.

BUT, it's typically a very predictable song with chord changes I knew you would play 10 seconds before you played them.  But, not withstanding that, you have given this the Liberace treatment and the last verse is awesome!  That chord change will have Louis Walsh signing you up for Westlife in an instant!

Well done!

She must have great taste - she married me didn't she? ;D
Thanks for the nice compliments on the song. Super glad you liked it!

Yes - the chord progression is a bit predictable because it's the same progression for verses and choruses. I'm hoping that the 3/4 time bridge, with a diff progression, and the 3-semitone lift at the end will keep it interesting.
Thanks for listening!

If there's one thing i hate in songs, it's a bloody key change. BUT... i loved this!! Thought the guitar part sounded Harrison-esque (which is no bad thing in my book).

Best of luck and merry Xmas!
Remember.... it's just my opinion. It doesn't make me right. Although i probably am ;)

Key changes only work when they work. hehe and yes, Harrison likes to pre-bend before picking - me too! Thanks for commenting.
Good luck to you too!

I like the sentiment and construction of the lyrics and the music is appropriate to the words for me.
Nice arrangement.

Thank you for your kind words - I guess the Beatles are a bit of an influence here.
cheers

I am loving this

The "standout" moment for me was the gorgeous piano intro

This sets the Christmassy feeling perfectly

I also liked the "nod" to other artists - Beach Boys, Brian May, Queen etc.

Really good start to my "listening session" this evening!
