I'm working on a project from now throughout 2014 that will pitch songs to USA contacts, mostly in Nashville.     I am looking for well written 'new country' genre lyrics where I will write the music and melodies to create finished songs.     Some examples of my work are on my website here www.aljamesproductions.com (although these examples are mostly not the country genre but just to let you hear the standard of finished production).

The finished songs will be then produced in my studio here in Edinburgh to 'release ready' standard with top musicians adding their parts, and at my own cost.

If you have well constructed 'song' lyrics in the new country genre then please email them over to me at aljamesproductions@gmail.com (or PM them to me on this) If you send as many as possible as, the way I work, the more you send means there is a higher chance that it will spark something musically that works.      Please only send lyrics that have never been used by another composer.

Thanks in anticipation and I look forward to viewing some great lyrics!   :)

Best

Al

Hi I am a scottish writer and write books poems now songs
I play guitar not greatly and cannot compose my own music
I can read music I can hear in my head what I want but cannot play it to my lyrics so
I am looking for a singer acoustic guitarist who loves to sing country folk / blues style
for my lyrics
here is some of my work which my inspiration came from the death of my son
I have many which I shall be turning into a book unless the lyrics are snatched up by you.
MY work is all under copyright so do keep this in mind when using my work.

I shall give you a few lines of some

The North Wind Blows

Bitter cold strong like ice the north wind blows
bringing home our loved ones from the dark
carrying messages along the ocean breeze
On shores of land a welcome made nice.

I never believed you would leave me
I wanted you to know I loved you so
I watched you wave goodbye
My heart breaks as I watch the ships go by
I stand here and cry as you go

Bitter cold strong like ice the north wind blows
bringing home our loved ones from the dark
carrying messages along the ocean breeze
On shores of land a welcome made nice.

The Virginal Maiden

Nighfall rains down from the clouded darkness from the sky
The virginal maiden stands laden with water buckets in each hand
looking up into nothing asking herself why …....

I have waited so long for you to return home
walking the world wanting to roam

Will you come back or will you keep on going
whatever your doing I have no way of knowing
I stand watch twilight turn to daylight
I pray you return to be mine

New Country means "Bro Country" which is basically songs about riding out into the country in your pick up with a beautiful, empty headed, compliant girl and singing about how great you were together, partying and drinking beer. If that's not what you're writing, forget it.

Modern country music addresses nothing, says nothing and means nothing. I'm just waiting for it to come back around.

Just my 2 cents worth but I'd like to hear the case for the defense from the guy who started the post.

I sent him a couple of lyrics...not my best and not 'bro. either..but the sort of thing thats still listened too..never heard a thing from him...i think the 'send as many as possible' request is a dodgy way of co-writing....you get these clowns from time to time pass through don't you.......i think Bro country is going to be around a long while...it makes more money and that's what matters out there #sorryMonty
