The WINNER of the November Lyric of the Month is.......
There was a three way tie for second place - a testament to the strength of the field.
In alphabetical order,
GTB with "The Ragwort Experiment"
and
Kevin J. with "Green Eyes"
and
Peejay with "Can't Lick Liquor"
all tied for second with five votes each.
The winner (drum roll please) was Benjo's lyric - "Streets of Liverpool."
I want to thank all the voters, and express what an honor it was to be asked to participate this quickly after arriving here. I hope everyone enjoyed this month's contest.....
I'm going to do something a little differently than in the past. Instead of asking someone to run December's (or if we choose to skip December's because of the Holiday season, January's) lyric of the month, I'm going to ask for volunteers first. If no one volunteers by the 20th, then I'll begin asking people.
(The final duty of the person who conducts the "Lyric of the Month" contest is to select his/her successor. Since I haven't been here all that long, and don't know who has recently done it, I prefer the volunteer method as a first resort.
I'd also like to hear your thoughts on whether to conduct a December LOTM contest or wait until January. I do not know what is commonly done. My first instinct is to make the next LOTM contest the January one.... but I WOULD like to hear what the will of the forum is, and do NOT want to decide that myself.
