HAHA, he's a little beauty ain't he?
But (grab some tissues) it's a very sad story....
The dog in my pic is called Arthur. He was one of the dogs my wife rescued from doggy death row, back when she was running her dog rescue.
We didn't have a centre, so Arthur had to go to kennels while we found him a foster home, which we did after a while. He went to live with a lovely lady called Sara, who really loved him, but was committed to fostering, so that should could help a lot of dogs instead of only one.
Anyway, a whole year went by and still Arthur hadn't been adopted, despite being the absolute darling you see in the pic. He had one or two behavioural quirks, but nothing major. He just needed to be understood. And of course, being a staffy meant that he was so often judged according to media scaremongering instead of according to the total softie he actually was.
But eventually, he was adopted, and settled in really well to his new home. He was really loved and firmly bonded with his new 'mum'. But out of the blue, he passed away just 6 months into his new home, and he's no longer with us.
But I will never forget the day I went to meet Arthur and take his photo, and come home with the pic in my profile.
One of the best dogs I ever met - I would have taken him home there and then if I could....
