A jovial happy fast  tune

Where they come from nobody knows? I just grab a pad and pencil and off I goes!!

                                 Surely you can’t say no?

If I were you this is what I’d do
I would marry me without a doubt
Tell your mum and dad and  all your family and friends
Then run about  and scream and dance and  shout

You’ll have the time of your life being my wife
We will sort out all our problems have no troubles or no strife
I’ll work my fingers to the bone
So we can build  a home.
If I were you this is what I’d do

If I were you this is what I’d do
I would marry me without a doubt
Order all the dresses and book the church and hall
Go and see your friends just stand and pout

You’ll have the time of your life being my wife
We will sort out all our problems have no troubles or no strife
I’ll work my fingers to the bone
So we can build  a home.
If I were you this is what I’d do

If I were you this is what I’d do
I would marry me without a doubt
And when your feeling down I would be your clown
I really feel like we are missing out

You’ll have the time of your life being my wife
We will sort out all our problems have no troubles or no strife
I’ll work my fingers to the bone
So we can build  a home.
If I were you this is what I’d do

So now here we go… down on one knee
My darling precious sweetheart…Will you marry me?

Hi Terry,

Who said romance is dead.

You should never promise a woman all these things. Might come back to haunt you one day!

I was thinking this line – ‘If I were you this is what I’d do’ could have the phrase ‘I do’ in it to reflect marriage. As in ‘I’d say I do if I were you’ or ‘If I were you I’d say I do’ or something similar.

Nice one,

Phil.

I love the "I'd say I do if I were you," idea.

This is so cheesy but you've got to love it! Kind of like a guilty pleasure ;D
