This is a goodbye song to my dear friend Gary Tweddle, I posted a song on here when he was missing about him being alive and fighting to live, he has now been found and confirmed dead, we did assume he was but held on hope, but at least it is closure for his mum and dad. unbelievably he was found in a famous part of the blue mountains called sweet dreams, he had fell down the cliff in the dark not seeing it. anyway this is to him, and on the day I found out it knocked me for six, I went to a old shop where we used to drink when we was younger got a bottle and sat there in the car park laughing at memories. anyway here it is.

also help with a song name would be great, I was thinking teaching angels to dance

R.I.P Gary Tweddle

James

Saw your smile through the clouds
You said goodbye, didn’t say it loud
Just enough for me to hear
So clear, like you was near
Is this really the end
Is this really ohhhh

I knew you seen me
Concrete seat
Bottle in hand
Just a temporary heal ....
Laughing but dying
Smiling but crying
Over memories of you, you

One day ill get the chance
Helping you, teaching angels to dance
For now In your bed of clouds
I hope you sleep well
Im dreaming of you
Im dreaming of ohhhh

I knew you seen me
Concrete seat
Bottle in hand
Just a temporary heal .....
Laughing but dying
Smiling but crying
Over memories of you, you

Big tear clouds now over my town
All my emotions come pouring down
I’m surrounded by alone
I’m surrounded by alone ohhhh

I knew you seen me
Concrete seat
Bottle in hand
Just a temporary heal …..
Laughing but dying
Smiling but crying
Over memories of you, you

Sweet dreams is where you were found
Sweet dreams is where you’re found

Lovely words Jameba, what a sad story, my condolences, I can't imagine what you are going through...

I think your title idea is perfect, very poetic, beautiful.

Best regards

Hi James,

This is a nice tribute to your friend.

Very touching.

I particularly liked this -

'I knew you seen me
Concrete seat
Bottle in hand
Just a temporary heal .....
Laughing but dying
Smiling but crying
Over memories of you, you'

Phil.
I don't know what i'm doing but i do it anyway.

Hello jameba,

Sorry to hear about your friend,

Nice lyrics, I for one feel that people can write good songs when they are talking about something that has happened to them in real life then just thinking of a song to write from the top of their heads.

It can bring emotion to the lyrics if you get what I mean.

Very nice lyrics mate well done.

Hi,

What a tragic story.
Writing from the perspective of your own life, or the things going on around you, always brings a welcome honesty to lyrics. Perhaps sometimes the reader might miss what only you can relate to, but the personal things add a credibility to a song for me.
The heartache comes through your lyrics. Doesn't have to be fancy lines - just simple things

You said goodbye, didn’t say it loud
Just enough for me to hear

Cheers,

Digger

hey digger72  again I agree with you, I feel all songs coming from a personal emotion trigger good lyrics, and even if no one knows your story they can feel the pain or happiness through the words.

appreciate your comment and time for reading mate

cheers james :)

Okay.  I have some time now.  This was really powerful emotionally, and it flowed really well.

I clearly came from the depths of your heart, and communicated both the pain of loss and the gratitude for having had such a friend.

It was beautifully conceived, deeply felt, and communicated to others what was inside YOU.

Can't do better than that with a lyric.
