hi guys,

this is dedicated to the little polish boy
Daniel Pelka, who was tortured and starved to death
by his own mum and stepdad,

   THIS IS DANIEL'S SONG
   ------ = = = = = = ------

 can you imagine life
 only four years long
 beaten and starved
 and loved by no one

how did it go so wrong
 this is daniels song
 this is daniels song

 can't hear him crying
 he's unable to move
 slowly wasting away
 refused water and food

 who heard him screaming
 locked inside his room
from his head to his toes
 daniel was black and blue

look at those big blue eyes
how could you make them cry
 look at that baby face
how could you let him die

how did it go so wrong
 this is daniels song
 this is daniels song

 can you imagine life
 only four years long
left to rot in a room
 the door handle was gone

 in a world of silence
pain and fear all he knew
 haunted by shadows of darkness
only after death came the truth

look at those big blue eyes
how could you make them cry
 look at that baby face
how could you let him die

how did it go so wrong
how did it go so wrong
 this is daniels song
 this is daniels song
 this is daniels song...

A difficult subject, not something that I could have written about. I liked your lyrics but they filled me with sadness (guess that's kind of the point). Very well done.

Hi Tony,

I agree this is a difficult subject but you've handled it well.

The reason this sort of thing keeps on happening is the authorities never come through on their 'lessons will be learned' mantra.

Nice one,

Phil.
I don't know what i'm doing but i do it anyway.

hey James,

so glad you enjoyed this one I wrote this really quickly because I was upset
just read about it in the paper,  it is hard to write about these kind of things
but I don't think things like this should be forgotten or given a blind eye
and these people in charge should get their fingers out,
 sorry getting angry,

thank you mate for taking the time and commenting,

                                                tony.

Hey Benjo,

That's really powerful.... Using words like good and best and favourite seem weird when talking about a subject like this....but in the absence of a better word, i thought the best line was "the door handle was gone"..... It's such a stark image. You just can't get away from how dreadful it is.

I think it's a very brave person to write and perform something like this. Performance will be key. For me a really bare and hard hitting style would work best instead of something sentimental. I'm not sure I'd have the guts to attempt it.... I'd be interested to hear where you go with it.

hey caco,

thank you so much for taking your time to read this and comment
I thought I had upset people or something,

yes you are right I don't really like writing about it cause it is hard
but I can't help it if you know what I mean,
I think this is just lyrics that I will keep unless some asks me if they can do it
but again thank you so much,

                                             tony.

Such a sad song. The way you writ it bought across a clear image of hat is going on which is good but sad and tragic at the same time. There are some really good lines in here, such as " look at those big blue eyes
how could you make them cry
 look at that baby face
how could you let him die"

A good write. Very emotive and a lot of feeling in this one that reflects the emotion you evidently feel on this case. Some great lines in there that are written in quite a sincere and simplistic way but resonate with such strong emotion. Last 2 verses really hit home what the song is about and contrasts the purity and innocence of the child and the evil that befell him. Well done :)

these kind of atrocities makes me sick...it's so evil I can't even begin to comprehend how someone could do this to another living being let alone a child...your own child :o :o and reading your lyrics makes me cry :'( which is a good thing, because in bringing this type of incident into our consciousness and just maybe, it will help people to wake up and put an end to this kind of suffering   :'(
really well done on the lyrics Tony and good for you for writing this...maybe it should be made into a song :-\ CS

Really sad lyrics Tony, music wise, would have to go with the flow of your lyrics, vocals, im thinking anger, but then, THIS IS DANIEL'S SONG, if someone can put all of these together, then this Kid will never be forgotten.
