Some nice lyrics showing up already...if the song lends to it, I wouldn't mind doing a spoken-word/rap part, that would relate to the song ;D ;D CS

I think the song has to be very uplifting but sometime sentimental, going on the words our secret world  (our secret world of lyrics music and songs)  so music has to be uplifting in chorus sometime sentimental in verses depending on what words are been sang or spoken, also whatever lyrics we use they have to flow well together and the music has to flow with the change according to the lyrics.

Just my thoughts for today.   8)

2, A cheese filter  :D  Large collaborations with lots of artists are often quite cheesy, think 'Perfect Day' - Lou Reed & BBC  or  'Sing' - that Jubilee song by Gary Barlow.
Cheesy rhymes are my pet hate (as everyone on the lyrics section will know... ;D)
In fact, I think my brain has a built in cheese filter...

Gimme some rough lyrics and I'll throw em on it.

Strike that. I need to keep a distance from the song.

Hi Alan, i think someone should try to throw lyrics on it....., and i hoping you would also go for that...because else i think this project may "freeze up", in this thread i will collect the lyrics and lines forumites have suggested to get this project rolling, if i would forget some lines and ideas, please forumites add them to this thread... here are lyrics from Habi:

"Listen Hard

Can you spare
Some of your time
Listen close
Inspect the rhymes

Can you judge
Can you decide
Find the meaning
In my lines

I have spent
Ungodly hours
Wrote of life
And death and flowers

Deep within
This hole I dug
Mining deeper
For this drug

Anxiously awaiting
Hanging on your words
Time has started crawling
Butterflies and nerves

Listen hard
And listen good
You promised me
You said you would

Cut me down
Or crown me king
Tell me truth
Say everything

Was it good
Was it bad
Will I smile
Will I be sad

In the end
In fourteen days
All forgotten
Off the page

Listen hard
And listen good
You promised me
You said you would

Cut me down
Or crown me king
Tell me truth
Say everything"

thoughts from Benjo:
 "creative minds so diverse
 pluck a tune from nowhere
 and make it work"

lines from Dogmax:

"We have all come together, writers of words

Musicians, singers, one and all

So journey with us into our secret world

Where we'll sing and dance in our next port of call"

amendments made to that by Fishermans:

"We all come together, writers of words

Musicians, singers some of them birds

We show you the way into our secret world

Where music is all and nothing hurts"

if i am forgetting bits and pieces please add them in this thread, and please keep adding ideas. is it possible to work on this, Alan...yes, i am trying to take maximum advantage of your volunteering  ;D ;D ;D
but if you want, i don't mind trying to fit things on the music and melody you offered, but for some reason i think the result will be better if you would go for it  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

ah, this must be one of my longests posts...i wonder if anyone is still reading this  ;D ;D ;D ;D

cheers

Still reading Dutch :-)

I'm very aware of this being a forum song so I don't want to put too big an imprint on it.

I'll work the lyrics into it if no one else wants to but I think others need to take over from me so it stays pretty neutral.

Just had a quick run through the lyrics.

'Can you judge
Can you decide
Find the meaning
In my lines'

is a bit busy. (not much time to breathe)

Maybe

'Sit in judgement and decide,
Find the truth between the lines'  ? (the melody flows a bit easier when I sing it)

Here's a few rough lines I'll throw out...for me it's how a song starts to evolve...I was thinking of this as a part of a spoken-word/rant section, but use it however you want...or not at all :) :)

It first comes as an inspiration
Then evolves into a creation
As it filters through the mirrors of my mind
Musically unique, ya one of a kind

Thanks CS  :)

Last line of new song?

All the new words  and music will cause the forum to blow
I think we should have done Terry's Barry Manilow!!
