For some reason mij good old windows movie making software decided to stop working completely

after having spent some days cleaning, reinstalling the program, defragmenting the computer etc etc., i decided to just give up, but i need to be able to make silly video's. Can anyone advise a program that works and that is somewhat afforable?

what programs do you guys and gals that make little films to you own music use?

I've read that lightworks is the absolute bees knees when it comes to free video editing software. It's just about as full featured as it gets. Downside is it has a steep learning curve.

hi db
ive used a canadian program called multiquence, cost about 25 dollars, comes as a download.
made by a company called goldwave.
its very simple to edit, add stills and movie clips and drop your music file into it,,

when you click on a frame or sequence it opens up and you physically create fades with a ‘pencil tool’ add efx etc kind of like the way you use an audio editor, quite logical.
the frames are layed out just like audio & you can add as many channels or layers as you need..

its not a top avid or sony but its not windows movie maker either.

(i also use their 'goldwave' audio editor which is first class to edit or get creative with stereo wavs)
i may not believe this tomorrow...

Hello Dutchbeat ..

did you reinstall windows again .. or just the Movie Maker .. if the later .. then it's some dll file problem .. attack of virus .. or conflict with other dll files .. if you reinstall windows .. it must work .. what windows you are running ??

or look at this .. http://webseasoning.com/technology/best-free-windows-video-editing-software/1079/

or look at this ..http://www.ezvid.com/ .. I might try this ... ;D ;D ;D

Hey DB, my windows movie maker did that too, it says it is missing a file and can't export anything :(

For my videos I use videopad, its easy to use and is free.

If you can afford Final Cut, use that. It's fantastic.

I'm afraid I can't advise on PCs, I don't use them.

Someone else here will know.
