lyrics
beautiful memories
of sunsets and honeybees
green leaved shady trees
children saying yes please

smoke from a chimney stack
waiting to see if fathers back
coming down the beaten track
i`ll wait and see...

beautiful memories
of silver planes and candy canes
white ghosts from a passing train
laughing clouds and the morning rain

never grow old
never grow old
oh never grow old
my child.....

Definitely has possibilities. I like the subject matter and I'm a sentimental old fool so that sits well with me. Reminded me a little of Nights In White Satin which I think is because of the sound and strum pattern on the acoustic guitar. Worthy of persuing.

Well love the lyrics, I'm thinking Neil Young, style works.
Wasn't sure it was strong enough melodically on the first listen. Played it again and there is something in the verses, I think I'd try some different things on the last line of the verse, be a bit stronger and more memorable on the 'smoke from a chimney' and 'never grow old' and make the transition flow. Songs this simple are hard.

I've always liked these lyrics, ever since you posted them in the lyric section. Nicely presented here as well. Nice strum on the acoustic and without doubt the best vocal you have done. You are coming on in this regard, good job.

An enjoyable song with potential.

Allan.

Hey STC,

Very chilled out song, reminds me of Nights in white satin by the moody blues.

What are your plans for it? It'd be cool to hear a more polished version, maybe with some subtle strings and a lead/solo part added.

Hab.

nice tune, nostalgic feelings all over!

certainly potential, think you could look for an extra, a chorus, with a clear change chordwise, perhaps with lyrics about how things have changed (not for the good)

just a thought
