I totally agree with you. I found the music superb and mesmerising and would have been joyous just listening to an instrumental! I was gone...
Then, "oh no" lyrics!! As you say clouded indeed, a total imbalance between lyrics and music, but 2mins 23 secs seems to be a bit of a coming together drawing a bit nearer to each other, huge potential for me. Loved every second  it. Terry.

Good title and intro, strong musically with interesting +ve vocal treatment.
Just sound like you need to finish the work on the lyrics and arrangements.
Look forward to hearing where you take it.

Hi Peter,

the song starts right off....to me it sounds like U2 meets Bruce Springsteen

i really like this one...mixwise there are some things, it seems to me the one guitar is completely to the left (on my headphones), and then another guitar and strings totally on the right, but this probably the way you want it, it seems a bit extreme to me (but i should shut up, i know nothing about mixing)

but the song flows very nicely and sounds cool

Thanks for some positive feed back gents.....

This song has a long way to go....both musically and lyrically.

I panned the guitars to try and split the 2 melodies but guess it does sound conflicting in certain parts.

I shall persevere.....

Thanks again guys!

I like this song but I feel that it needs more lyrics to be finalised. Melody wise I think it is great.

Well done and keep it up. :-)

good song mate, all the ideas are there, just needs abit more brushing up, got all the potential to be a really good song. good guitar, decent chorus.
I agree with the guitar seems to be panned in the left ear but as dutchbeat said, its maybe how you want it. Spend some time on making a good mix and you have a good song on your hands.

I really like this, the guitar riffs are are really catchy and edgy.Love the vocals too. As said earlier it's a bit U2/The Boss like, but could be a really great song.Look forward to the finished thing.

The title draw me in. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand most of the lyrics because the vocals are drowned in effects  - and rather low anyway (except towards the end).

Musically I don't find it bad at all, but much too long. 4 minutes should do.

I actually like this! It's like a U2 sort of similar sound, but I prefer this :)
Keep up the great work!

Hi Pete,

This is a great song in the making, lovely feel to it.  I agree with the comments above re the mix though.  There is a great sound you introduce around the 3 minute mark, love that.
I did feel a bit uneasy with the bass though.  It seemed a bit tense somehow, as if slightly out of tune in places.

cheers,

Extremely strong instrumental.  Two very distinctive vocal styles in evidence.  Almost a "Springsteen" sound to the verses (which need to be still louder btw) and a more powerful sound to the chorus.

I would have liked to hear the instrumental "shift gears and briefly take off" somewhere.... but that's just a personal preference.

Great potential of becoming a festival classic (is there such a thing?) hopefully you get what I mean. The chorus is gold! Can't you just hear the crowd taking that and belting it out?

I found the three note arpeggios a bit irritating after a while but that could just a mix-level and timing thing. I realise they are central to the feel of the song. There seems to be something discordant about the first chord in a couple of the choruses? I think your fingers are getting tied in knots maybe? that needs sorting.

The change around the 3 min mark is very refreshing (despite the unsettling level drop just beforehand) but when it is compressed at 3:15 it kinda don't work for me. I'd say drop it at the 3:14 mark and go right into the chorus ... they won't know what hit 'em ;) (i mean cut 3:14-3:32)

Did I get short-changed on the lyrics/ There seem to be a lot more in the song than the few lines you posted?

I think you have a great song here. Really great.

Shinythang,

Thank you so much for your comments. Absolutely nail on the head.

You're not a producer with some spare time on your hands by any chance?

Would like to chat some more if possible?

Regards,
