This was sooo hard to get down to 5 songs and regrettably I am sure my own personal taste has had some bearing in it but I am sure that other taste will surface to the top in other months as different selectors take the help.

Actually Saeed, you can vote as I am sure all nominees will vote for their own song and effectively cancel each other out.

What the rules said was that I was unable to nominate any of my own songs. I will have to wait until next month and hope to get selected then.

So, are all these songs ones that have been posted between June 1st and June 31st? And we've now started a new competition for the month of July and a new judge has been appointed? Just trying to get this straight, because I thought it was all starting on July 1st

On last look my calendar stopped at June 30th? dang I must have a print error, never mind.

Under the rules on page one it says

"These rules are in no way set in concrete they are merely a starting point for discussion but we need to have it finalised before the months end so that this month can be put underway."

I wrote that intending to have the rules finalised by months end so that I would be in a position to go back over the months entries and select however many nominees the consensus wanted. Once this competition is concluded ( mid month ) I will nominate next months adjudicator. I actually found it very difficult to do, I took me hours and hours, luckily I am active in both songs and lyrics which helped to make the job easier. I actually think it would be best in future to separate it out as two jobs. A song nominator and a lyric nominator to spread the work load. But that is open for discussion, as its not my competition I am just the one who got the ball rolling.

anyway thanks for clearing it up for me about the dates and thanks for all your hard work I can't imagine trying to pick 5 songs and 5 lyrics...it would take hours  

I think you're absolutely right about having two separate nominators...it's too much for one person to do both

Just a question, what happen if the persons selected don't have the time to listen to every song or read all the lyrics that are posted, also wouldn't it be better to have more than one persons to pick maybe one or two songs or lyrics each, that way more than one's persons taste is not included in the nominees for voting, hope this make sense.

Makes sense to me What if you get picked to be a nominator and you don't want to do it...I hope you can decline

I think Allan should have two or three nominators in his mind and send Personal Massage to get his or her 's agreement to be a nominator .. if not ask the 2nd and the 3rd .. and so on .. till you get some one who is welling to do the job ..
