music DEMO added - https://soundcloud.com/gtbr/dare-to-dream
sorry about my singing - I imagine a duet with both a boy & girl singer doing pretty much all of it.
edited lyrics below:

Here's another one... (this one's for the missus).  Imagine a lively upbeat rock song despite the words (we ain't dead yet!).  No chords or melody for it so far.  Feedback, suggestions etc. welcome as usual.

Dare To Dream (Christmas Every Day With You)

chorus
Don’t buy me anything this year
I only want my music and to be with you
If I had a thousand wishes
Just be there, like you always do

verse 1 (quieter)
I remember those winter days, cold and damp and dark
Crawling from out of the abyss
We started a forest fire with just a single spark
And we dared to dream with a kiss

pre-chorus
We still know the words to all of the songs
And a little piece of history where each one belongs

chorus
Don’t buy me anything this year
I’m celebrating every day with you
If I had a thousand wishes
Just be there, like you always do

verse 2 (quieter)
We remembered all those battles, out in the cold
We found each other bloody but unbowed
We travelled on the ocean and far beyond the wolds
The secrets of the future to unfold

bridge  (getting louder)
We dare to dream, dare to dream
By the ocean blue and in the fields of green
We dare to dream, dare to dream
In the heat of summer, by the mountain streams
We dare to dream, dare to dream
While the mercury is falling with the autumn leaves
We dare to dream
It’s like Christmas every day with you

pre-chorus
And still we are dancing on our tired and battered feet
One pedal to the metal and one to the disco beat

chorus
Don’t buy me anything for Christmas
I’m celebrating every day with you
If I had a thousand wishes
Just be there, like you always do

OhMyGosh, this song sums up my life every Christmas- why is it that ALL female relatives never want anything!? It makes me feel really bad when I give out my three page Christmas list ::)
This is a really nice, relatable piece, I don't have any criticism except I don't think the title reflects the song. The title reminds me of that 'oh I wish it could be Christmas every day' song, whereas this is more of a Christmas 'no present will equal our love' type thing. But, I love the song all the same.
This album's going to be a cracker!
(SEE what I did there...Christmas pun :D)

Thanks Jess, I thought this was going to slip away un-noticed.  I have already decided to rename it to "Dare to Dream" and at one point I was tempted to remove any mention of Christmas! how could I?
Anyway I have melody, chords, edited lyrics etc. so will post soon with all updates & a link to the track.
cheers,

Another top drawer song GTB. I can't wait for the Christmas album, it's shaping up with some top class tunes on it. My favourite lines were the last 2 lines of the first verse. There's plenty of great imagery in there and it flows really well. I must admit I'm getting that Christmas feeling already and July has only started!

Love the song! There are some great lines in this such as "we started a forest fire from just one spark" loved that! Also I really like the repetition of the bridge. I have to agree with Jess about the title though, I thought of the same song but maybe you could call it Christmas Every Day With You. Obviously up to you and you may think is too long.

Anyway loved this!

awww, shame you didn't post this a day earlier, it would have been a contender in the lyric of the month.
