Well this is my first submission of a song on the forum. Not sure if I'll add lyrics yet hence the reason I put it as unfinished in instrumental form.

To be honest this is not the usual type of song I come up with as it's in quite an old fashioned style. I had a melody popped into my head a few weeks ago which seemed familiar. I also had a very old fashioned lyric of "Beware my Love" and heard it as an old thirties or forties type of song. I Googled the phrase and discovered there is a Wings song with that name but that sound a lot different.

Is this an original melody or does it sound familiar? I'm not sure if I've unwittingly pinched it.

Hi and welcome,

There are parts that are familiar, little phrases and note combinations but I don't think you've copied anything in the full melody. Always nice when you write something that sounds like it's been written before but hasn't.

Looking forward to hearing the finished track. Don't forget that the more reviews you write of other's songs, the more you'll get for your own. :)

hi K 1957,

this is a lovely piece I don't know if you are thinking of putting lyrics to it
but when I listen to it,  I seem to keep getting words in my head

first verse for example,   THERE'S A FLAME IN MY HEART
AND IT COMES FROM A LOVE
                                        IT'S A BRIGHT COLOURED FLAME
AND IT BURNS LIKE THE SUN,

sorry to put it to you but it did stick in my head
anyway just scrap the words, lovely tune
   good luck with this tony...

Hi, I agree with Monty dog but not an era I know well.
The piano chords starting around 20 secs echoes something but the clever minor chords alters things.
Its the piano melody starting at 0.35 which sound familiar - what happens when you put it into Shazam?
Anyway its got a good feel to it.

Thanks for all the comments. I haven't tried Shazaming it but will try.
