Hey guys

I know some of you use Reverbnation as well, so I wanted to check here.
I had no idea there were limitations of song lengths, but apparently 5:48 is pushing it too far :p
Anyone who had this problem and/or knows if there's a (free) solution for it?

Soundcloud is an option, but I'd like to keep all of it on one platform...

Hi,

I thought the limitation was on the size of the file not the length of the song. I think I used a smaller bitrate, 128 kbps.

Hope that helps,

I find Soundcloud much more useful.

No help to your original post.... but I do.

Yes, well, now Soundcloud seems to be just fine, but it didn't work properly for a while...
And reverbnation is just an easier managing tool...

Might try the 128 kbps thing. Thanks!

PRO TIP

Alway upload to Reverbnation at 128kbps

They convert files to this rate if not, which damages the file, esp noticeable on acoustic music.

WHEREAS

While Soundcloud ALSO streams at 128, best sound from SoundCloud comes from uploading 16BIT wav files, as their algorithms convert everything to 128k MP3s, EVEN if you provide this format. Converting a file twice will often cause unwanted artefacts, so is always best avoided.

In short: Upload

128kbps to Reverbnation
16Bit WAV to Soundcloud

(This is subject to change if they ever update their sites, but was valid last time I checked)
