Hi Everyone

I have been playing the guitar for many many years and it always been an ambition of mine to write a song. Unfortunately, despite trying on numerous occasions I just never get further than coming up with a few chords or a riff.

Then I thought maybe I could find someone who is good at writing lyrics and possibly assisting with melodies and we could collaborate.

So this is what I am looking for here.

I'm really into rock music - mainly heavier rock.

Here is an example of something that I came up with https://soundcloud.com/ollyno1uk/acoustic-with-drum but this is where I get to time after time - it is moving it from this sort of idea into a song that I really struggle with!

Anyhow, if anyone can help or assist I would love to hear!

I don't write rock myself, but if you check out the lyrics section there may be something that catches your eye (and most people are pretty eager for there stuff to be put to music)

Hey Ollyno1uk

That is a great start to a song

I would be up for sharing some ideas on where to take the track

I immediately had a melody for your "verse" and where you stop on your sample I can hear it kicking off in to a soaring pop/rock chorus - a la Foo Fighters etc.

PM me if you want to discuss where to go from hear - perhaps someone else would be up for doing the lyrics  ;)

Hi, I write rock mostly (not much posted on here yet though due to another project in progress, and the 'fortnightly posting rules") and here's a tip I use sometimes.  Once you have the initial riff, progression or idea put down your guitar!  Get a drum loop and a bass line together for the rest of the song and maybe some of the lyrics THEN come back to guitar.
Ozzy said it's the quality of the bass and drums in Black Sabbath that gave Tony the space to create his brilliant guitar work - good luck :-)
