How do I 'move' or 'promote' a song through the different parts of this forum? (apologies for lack of correct terminology).  E.g. I want to move a song from "lyrics" into "work in progress", then at a later date into "finished songs".
Do I lock the existing thread and create a new one in the next place? or can it be actually transferred somehow?
Do the 'comments' and 'views' get reset to zero?  It would be good to keep them.
I assume the end result should leave a two week gap between any two songs in each part of the forum, to be compliant.

I couldn't find another thread explaining this, so would be grateful if someone could advise, maybe even add the info to the "rule" thread?  :)

This is where your friendly "Fairy Modmothers" come in to play (see what I did there!)

I would suggest a post in the BAR (which is where the MODs hang out) with a subject heading along the lines of "FAO MODS: Please move my song..." and then give some details in the post

We can then jump to your aid and make the move for you - updating yu thread in the BAR so that you (and other MODs) can see what has been done

Sound like a plan?

I'm afraid you have slightly too much time on your hands...:D

Ahh! thanks Boydie, that sounds simple enough even for me.  As soon as I get it recorded I'll give it a go.
Cheers, Graham

Maybe a PM to a mod or using the 'report' button would be a better idea.
Then the bar doesn't get clogged up and the mods receive an email telling us about it :)

That was my initial thought RAMSY, but I thought it would be better in the "open forum" so it is clear who has dealt with it

We could all get the PM / report and spend ages looking for the post, only to find someone has already done it

With no "reply all" to the PMs it would be difficult keeping the other mods up to speed with what we have done

If we had an "FAO MODs..." post for "non sensitive" stuff like this I think it would get handled quicker and more efficiently

We can always delete/lock these posts when the request has been dealt with

The report and PM system can then be reserved for the sensitive stuff like reporting offensive posts etc.
