Hello my creative forum buddies...here's a WIP...this one is pretty far out there ::)...like in outer space...it is the product of a dream I had that was so real that I had to write it down...it came out as poetry, so I decided to try and make a song out of it...this is what happened kinda spontaneously :o ...don't know if it works or not...any feedback would be greatly appreciated...I hope it keeps your interest...it's a little on the long side...don't be fooled by the intro :o

https://soundcloud.com/crystalsuzy/angels-and-aliens-c

I travel in my sleep on a rainbow of dreams
Where fragile thread sows the seam
Between imagination and reality

It first appeared to be like other stars
Glowing in the night way out far
It was there in one spot and then it was gone
Like God skipping stones, on the Universal pond

It zigzagged across the midnight sky
Like a drunken diamond learning to fly
Then suddenly, it was overhead
Like a giant mushroom of inferred
A stem of light beamed from it womb
And I am compelled to be consumed....

I entered a portal into a space
Filled with light and sounds that vibrate
On frequencies unknown to me
On frequencies that let me see
Into other words, into other times
And as I shifted into other paradigms
There was no fear, there was no dread
No questions asked, no nothing said

And as I embraced this new found space
I realized that, I was not alone in this illusive zone
Some familiar, some not, deceased loved one, or so I thought
We danced, we played, we sang, we ate
And as we partied on this utopian star
Telepathic messages seemed to come from afar
Which in-sighted an awakening, an remembrance of who we really are
And as an atmosphere of love enveloped us all
We became like one big spinning ball
And I began to feel lighter and lighter and less and less dense
And then suddenly, it all began to make perfect sense

Then great figures appeared within the light
Like holograms of celestial delight
And these alien beings began to sing
A cosmic opera with angels wings
That soared into the depts of my soul
And sent me spinning out of control
Into an ecstasy beyond belief
In inspiration of love and peace, and they chanted

You are star seeds from other galaxies
Planted on this earth to bring in harmony...and then they spoke ::)

It is time for you to germinate and to co create peace on your planet
You are not alone in this universe...we have come to help you move
From the age of destruction to the age of enlightenment
We are your friends...do not be afraid
We are leaving many signs, like the crop circles
To help activate your dormant DNA blueprint
The time is now...the dark forces can no longer draw energy
The time is now for you to awaken...you are not alone
You are moving now, into the fifth dimension

I laughed I wept, had I died, was I dead
Or was I letting go of all I'd been fed?
Of realities I'd known and the seeds I'd sown
Or was I indeed in the twilight zone
In the centre of the universe, the forbidden jewel
On a rainbow of dreams, where dilution no longer rules

I travel in my sleep on a rainbow of dreams
Where fragile thread sows the seam
Between imagination and reality

Utterly cool and oh so original.  Really liked this but am not sure if this was a dream or drug induced hallucinations lol.

Some realy nice sounds incorporated in just the right places and the girls voice has a touch of genius. Lyrically this is very strong and the delivery is well thought out. No critisms here, could be a sound track easily. Just wonder on wether it has legs?

Allan.

thanks Allan...it was definitely a dream...no drugs on this one ::) ...I'm assuming you're wondering if the aliens have legs...to be honest it wasn't real clear, as they were holograms...so you didn't think them speaking was over the top?...thanks again for listening

Suzy, this is the most amazing sounscape! How on Earth did you put this together? Well, not on Earth obviously.I too was wondering what kind of mushrooms you had for tea. Wow! your own Kubla Khan except no one interrupted you.

Long lyrics always make me approach with caution but you have made this just so ... different. I love the ethereal voices at around 2:50. The whole thing plays out like a poetic story.

Run out of time ... I have to get to work but this is amazing. Love it.
They're, there, their  ...  They're all different!

Well, you certainly have better dreams than I do!
I found the lyrics superb but felt the music did not compliment nor enhance or project them.
It felt like two seperate items, lyrics and music, not together.
A potential piece of art, I'm off to have a nap!
I wish you well. Terry.

Hey Suzy,

You're nuts!!  :D

And I love it..

Like with your other creation, that 3 part story you posted on my thread, you really have a way with words. The rhythmic poetry, your delivery, it's proper story telling and it really sweeps me along on the journey. You seem to have a way of building the excitement, then building it more, and more.. I feel like a kid again, being told a story by one of my old primary school teachers. The ability to deliver words in such a way that people are captivated and have their imagination sparked is a real gift.

I'm so glad you found this forum, long may you continue..

Thanks for sharing, I think it's perfect.

Hab..

Ah the 3 legged, dog/god song??? ;D Must be some strange stuff out in Canada.
Great vocal fx, liked the rhythm. I'm getting bit of Prince in there somewhere....
It must be a hell of a production!!!
Put a great big grin on my face and I really cant make any suggestions..
It works.

Hi and thanks for taking the time to review this rather long/strange song...I'm glad most of you seem to like it...I really wasn't sure if the electronica sound would work with the lyrics, but I couldn't seem to come up with a melody or any other way of doing it...if anybody wants to give it a shot or has any ideas, I'm open...no mushrooms except for the spaceship :o ..I do tend to have some pretty far out there dreams ::)...I'm surprised nobody thought the aliens speaking was maybe a little too much...my partner laughs every time he hears it ;D...I know the lyrics are pretty far out there, but there is a serious message and I don't want it to sound cheesy :D
Again thanks for all your humbling comments...I love this forum :)

This is what the forum is all about for me. Something completely original and out there which you're not afraid to expose to the glare of criticism. Nothing safe or predictable here. Compare the best 10 songs on this thread at the moment with the current Top Ten singles chart and tell me which is the most innovative and original.

Fabulous production - it sounds like it took hundred of hours. I'm frankly staggered.

Congratulations on your imagination and ability to transfer your inspiration into a song. Wonderful.

Wow...thanks for such a great compliment Montydog...I'm humbled...I always feel a little vulnerable posting any song, but this one was particularly so, just because it is so far out there...I certainly don't expect everyone to like it or any song I post, but this forum has been so supportive and helpful, that I feel pretty safe here...it did take quite a long time as this was the first time I'd tried building a song like this, so thanks again :)
