Hi there

I would love to know if anybody has heard of the songplugging organisation in Nashville called 'Springbarrel'? I have been offered a contract by them to plug two of my songs to their contacts within the industry, for a fee of $1000. I am not in the financial position to throw away money and I want to make sure they are legit before making any sort of commitment.

Are they a con do you think or would it be a smart investment? I'd really appreciate your views!

Hi Deedee

I'm not familiar with these kinds of services, so I'd be naturally cautious anyway. One look at their website makes me slightly nervous. I'd ask them for some kind of assurance as to what exactly you get for your $1,000 and perhaps ask to speak to one or more of their existing clients.

Best of luck with it, and let us know how you get on.

if they are asking you for money it is surely BS. Any deal where you hand over songs and money to someone who says they are going to do this and that with it (usually stuff that you dont really know what they are doing) is no good.
