Ok peeps,

I'm not sure what to do, if you've been keeping up with discussions you'll know there has been a bit of debate over the next competition. I posted the summer comp idea as a suggestion to gauge opinion as the 12 bar blues was quite a specific theme, some are interested, some aren't, if we don't run with the earlier blues idea, have we missed a great comp opportunity?

So, simple question..

Choose, express interest, vote for which one you want to play.

I'll leave it a week, or until a clear leader emerges, then we'll sort the details...

Seeing we are sticking to a 3 month routine, I vote we go SUmmer first, so the voting will be in July, Perfect!

Then perhaps blues to end in September, heading downhill to winter!

To make the blues EASIER to enter, how about we do a "12 bars" competetion instead. The track needn't be in the blues style. But just use one fo the classic blues 12 bars tunrarounds. I have written a soul number recently in a 12 bars style I could polish up and enter, so bias I will admit!

But saying "not blues" might make it more open, and see what people do with the classic 12 bar formula.

But yup, I deffo say Summer for summer! Plus it is SO open, anyone can enter

I'd go with both - I like the idea of summer collab in the summer and then follow it with the other. Personally I'd just say blues and delete the 12 bar bit, i think that would open it up more - it wouldn't stop people doing 12 bars. But whatever what we really want is participation. I'm in for both/anything..

So far, it looks like we're leaning towards summer first, then blues/12 bar afterwards.

If we made the summer comp an open entry (collab or individual) we may get more players. Those who fancy a collab can put their name forward to be paired up, those who prefer to work alone can still play as well.

if its the summer tune fist then i'l work with anyone if they fancy it but i only come with vocal and me acoustic but i dont mind working on me own to come up with something so either way!

It's not that I wish to work alone. Some of the best stuff I've done has been in collabs here.  But time is a rare element in my life at the moment and I wouldn't want to let a partner down.
A competition does help me to flex my musical muscles so either option will do.
