Hello again all,

Here is a protest song, along the lines of being the '99%'. >:(

1.
I was born, yeah I’m alive
I’m made to kill yeah just to survive
Put to the sword, playing the games
A good death is death all the same
I’m the foundations, I was the slave
I’m the price for the promise you gave
You dubbed me feral, called me Dalit
I’ve had millennia taking this shit

1st Chorus
Believe or die, Choke my cry
Taking a side so you can shoot me down
Split the church, I knew too much
In the chair so you can shoot me down

2.
Under religion, the preachers hand
You took my innocence and pillaged my land
I built the empire, saw it cave in
40 million thrown to Temujin
No reservations, under the gun
Take the disease when the white man comes
Succumb to famine, endure the drought
I’m the majority that you forced out

2nd Chorus
My home town, burnt to the ground
You cast me out, then you shoot me down
I dug my grave, stood at the side
You walk behind and then you shoot me down

Instrumental

3rd Chorus
I have no choice, I have no voice
I make a noise and then you shoot me down
Over the Top, run from the Cops
Break my mind, but you still got nothing on me

3.
You made the rift, the great divide
You retold history and changed the time
You told the father, to call his son
And when he came you slaughtered everyone
Times have changed, we have arrived
A new age in which you cannot hide
We are the billions, that you sold out
You are the few we can do without

4th Chorus
Your time is up, we won’t give up
Were taking it back, we’re gonna shoot you down
We have the voice, we have a choice
We’ll turn it around, so we’ll shoot you down

There are some very strong lines in here especially a good death is death all the same. It has the protest air about it and when reading over it I got a feeling that this could work quite well as a rap. I duno why maybe it was just the way I was writing the lyrics but that's what came to mind. There is some very skillful penship in this one and I'd love to hear this one when fully developed. :)

Wow this is so good, normally I'm not a fan of protest songs- I stick more to the country and pop genres- but this really caught my eye. The choruses are phenomenal and your rhyming and word choices are perfect :) your next job is finding a really strong melody that supports these great lyrics
