Not sure if i reccomend this or not, still not yet got used to it, but it is available to listen at http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=129955938

the production is a bit odd, quite unlike some of lanois' other work but i feel once you get used to it it really brings out some great features in the songs. I think the album is either absolutely awful or absolutely brilliant, it just depends what mood you're in. Maybe not his best lyrics but they have their moments. I think I'll be able to give a better review of thge album in a few months time. Still, well worth a listen.

Neil Young's a funny bugger isn't he?  My favourite fact about him has to be the way his recording studio is set up. When he's playing a rough mix or listening back to what he's done, he has two huge speakers mounted outside; one on his barn, the other on his house. Kind of like a big PA.
Then, he rows out onto his lake, and has the engineer play the music. He shouts, "More Barn! More House!" until the balance is right, before listening. :D

I have this album, being a massive Neil Young fan, and I would say it is a pretty interesting listen if not one of his best.
