Hopefully this offering is acceptable to the Songwriter Forum powers that be(Ie, You). I welcome all comments, both positive and negative. If you have any questions, feel free to ask whatever you like as well.

Redemption

Woefully prepared
You wandered to the field
Yearning for the sights,
The sounds and of the feel

But a conscript of time
Begets a casualty of fate
And as bravely as you fought
You know it's much too late

It's much too late,
Ye-ah
It's much too late

Now you struggle to move but
Your thoughts are memories
Of all the times you failed
To live what you had dreamed

You can't re-live your past
You just live with what has been
Yet something drives you on
To keep changing who you see

And you're trying to become who
You think you should have been
Knowing that you're not
The man you'll need to be

For Rede-emption
For Rede-emption

Longing to fit in where
You learned you shouldn't be
Wisdom said to jump
Before you're pushed into the sea

But a wiser man swims on
Through that fading fairy's wake
For only a fool
Repeats their own mistakes

So you're trying to become who
You think you should have been
Knowing that you're not
The man you'll need to be

For Rede-emption
For Rede-emption

For Rede-em
For Rede-emption

For Rede-em
For Repe-emption

I really like this. I can hear the melody in my head just reading it.

The only thing I'm not a big fan of is the line

" Yet something drives you on. To keep changing who you see"

I see how it links up with the end of the other measure. I just feel like it dosent flow.
But maybe my imagined melody is just different than yours.

Either way. I dig it.
I love to laugh like I love to write, which is only slightly more than I love to play guitar. Which is half as much as I love to play drums.

;D
