This is about someone trying to take someone elses girl. I wrote it with an upbeat indie kind of pace, think The Coral or The Libertines.

If I should write and ask the King
Would he cast me to the dark
Through the gates I've seen
At the edge of far and wide
Wonder should I risk the blocks
To try make her my Queen
I steal my bread you sip your wine
Day turns night they come and go
Her smile lights up the sky

(ch)
Like to say you're the same as me
Uncomfortable in your own skin
Like to say he's no good for her
Plain to see she's quite the flirt
Like to say
Same as me
Love to fight but never win

She runs her fingers through her hair
Silent glances come my way
There's something in the air
The stars are bright the moon is high
I would reach and steal them all
For a Queen so fair
Could he give you all I promise
Take you to the tallest tower
And show him what he missed

(rpt ch)

If I should write the King once more
Would he fight to save his love
On the morning shore
As the sun wakes and it rise
Draws a line across the sand
There's vengeance in his eyes
Will I walk from here head high
Or will I lay here in the surf
Under dawning sky?

Won't own this throne forever
Squire come fighting for
As that day has not yet come
I'll be king for another day more.

I really like this, I like the general themes. I can play through it in my head, I get the upbeat pace. My favourite part is the second to last bit. Good all round.
