In the key of blues. 8)

Definitely going to do some arrangement tweaks when I throw it at the band, and would very much appreciate any comments you have about it... Also, sorry if lo-fi isn't your cuppa tea, but its all i can do with my equipment at the moment.

--------------

there's something in the water
there's something in the water
I hope it comes to take me
and keep me down there

there's nothing more to tell
when the people won't help
and no ones ever listening
anytime i talk
so i whisper to the dark

will they ever find me
the people left behind me
or am i just a memory
a fading thought

should this be the last
wish i'll ever cast
the gates are wide open
and falling into the pit

how could i be so mistaken
i thought, as i rose up off my back
i was doing well and having made a wish i couldn't will
i had my doubts

there's something in the water
way on down...

how could this have happened
it's not what i'd imagined
i guess i've just awoken
such a darkened sight
and it's serves me right

how could i be so unfaithful
to my responsibility
and in a haze of opinion
i tied the noose upon this tree

may i have be so mistaken
i thought, as i rose up off back
i was doing well and having made a wish i couldn't will
i had my doubts

there's something in the water
there's something in the water

Liked  it ,like your last song....something engaging about that guitar sound also..will listen again.

Very Jack White,,,on the second listen.....perfect live music in a small club...

This has a great feel to it. I love the crunchiness of it, and the timing of the pauses gives it a real atmosphere.

I confess: I have a soft spot for "re-worked" blues.

Yep - can hear a Jack White influence there. Great, bluesy guitar playing there. Would be interesting to hear it given full band treatment. 8)

I am very fond of Whites music, that's true... I'm not too surprised he came up haha, though i wasn't actively trying to emulate him. thanks for listening

Great title and super guitar sound!!!  I like it bare and stripped back and got Tom Waits.

Such a brilliant raw sound. I think it sounds like a white Leadbelly, or as Neil C said, maybe a young Tom Waits. And in no way is that a bad thing. Nice one.

That's a great guitar sound you have there. I thought that the lyrics were first rate - they reminded me of Neil Young when he does his grungy Crazy Horse stuff. I'm not over keen on the vocal effect - this needs a natural vocal to off set the gritty guitar and uncomprimising vocals. Bold, refreshing and very different. Excellent.

Yep liked this. Raw and emotional. Good lyrics - totally fitting. Nice playing. The lo-fi quality is what is so appealing.

I'd probably try that if it wasn't for my damn mic haha, the sound has a severely limited frequency anyway so I thought if it's gonna be lo-fi, might as well go all the way.

Having said that, it's digital distortion, which isn't nearly as lovely as if it were recorded to tape in my opinion, so i'm still working on sorting that out.. and Neil Young is quite fantastic, lyrically it was inspired by a local suicide... they found him in the woods just last week, plus the guy's girlfriend had just given birth to his child :( very sad indeed.

This is really good.
I like it lo-fi and all  :P It's blue's and blues is blues. But blues done well is always, at least to my ear, attractive.
Well done. Really liked your vocals as well as your playing.
