Did anyone watch this on the BBC?

Interesting I thought. It wasn't your usual "top ten songs that celebs like", it was an insight into how royalties are accrued with a little background info on the song itself. The no1 was interesting, I won't spoil the surprise but some will guess it.

If  I must travel can I take the cynic route?

I watched this yesterday after a "heads up" from a friend

I urge everyone to watch it - not really for the "top ten" but for the snippets in-between which have some nuggets of information about songwriting, royalties, anecdotes etc.

Just watched it...very interesting .....would have guessed some Bee Gees.or Commodores ...i`m now off to write a famous jingle.

Also this confirms to me ,,,that hit songs come from collabs between lyricists and musicians..sometimes accidental ..but non the less..two peeps .

It was an interesting programme. It surprised that there were quite a few Christmas songs in there. I also found it helpful looking for common themes and patterns in the lyrics.

Anyway I must go. Got to write a Christmas song.
